Riley McNichols, a current high school senior from Brecksville, OH, has committed to swim for D1 Bowling Green State University. McNichols will graduate from high school in May 2020 and join BGSU’s class of 2024.
McNichols currently swims for the Cleveland Swim Institute and will be joining her club and high school teammate Karen Krosky at BGSU.
“I chose BGSU because of the great academics, athletics, and support the school has to offer. Coach Rickey and Coach Christina have done an excellent job building the program, and I am so excited to be a part of it! Go Falcons!”
With her current best times, McNichols would have placed just outside of scoring finals at the Mid-American Conference this year, and further is an area where Bowling Green State needs a lot of help. They graduated their top 100 freestyler from last season, senior Franziska Wohlert, who ranked 18th in the conference in the event. She was also the only Bowling Green swimmer to rank in the top 28 of MAC swimmers in the 100 free season-long.
McNichols will begin her swimming career at Bowling Green State University in the fall 2020.
