CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District Teams announced, includes 47 swimmers in DI

The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) released the selections for their Academic All-District Teams today, and swimmers and divers got heavy representation on the lists. Between all division, 147 swimmers and divers earned the honor.

CoSIDA breaks the U.S. and Canada into 8 geographically-based districts to compile the All-District Teams. All athletes honored with first team All-District status go into consideration for the Academic All-America first, second and third teams, which are announced the first week of June.

Each school’s Sports Information Director nominates athletes, who must be a sophomore or older, have a cumulative GPA of 3.3 of higher and either be a “varsity starter or key reserve.” Capital One sponsors the All-District and All-America teams.

These teams are made up of athletes from across the range of different sports. We’ve pulled out the swimmers from Division I and listed below. There are also All-District Teams for Division II, Division III and the College Division (made up of NAIA, Canadian and two-year schools).
