Colorado Sprinter Taylor Wilson Gives Verbal to Villanova Wildcats

Taylor Wilson, who swims for Regis Jesuit High School and Denver Swim Academy in Colorado, has made a verbal commitment to Villanova University for 2015-16. Wilson told SwimSwam, “I loved the campus and the team. I really like the community feel the school has as a whole and I look forward to swimming for Coach Rick!”

Swimming for Regis Jesuit at the 2014 Colorado 5A State Championship Meet, Wilson placed fourth in the 50 free and ninth in the 100 and anchored both Regis’ free relays. Her top times include:

50y free – 24.03                50m free – 27.87
100y free – 51.95              100m free – 59.92
200y free – 1.54.59          200m free – 2:13.47

Wilson steps up for relays: her anchor split on Regis’ 200 free relay was 23.55 and on the 400 relay, 51.07. Those performances led to Wilson’s being named to the 2013-14 All-State Girls Swim Team. She has also been on the All-City Girls Swim Team for each of the last three years.

Wilson is a two-time member of the USA Swimming Scholastic All-America Team and was named to the Colorado High School Athletic Association (CHSAA) Academic All-State First Team.

“I’m really excited! I knew the minute I arrived on campus that I wanted to be a Wildcat.”
