Saint Michael’s College women’s swimming & diving first-year Lindsay McNall (Colchester, Vt./Colchester) broke a pair of school records in her college debut on Saturday, as the Purple Knight men and women both downed Colby-Sawyer College during their season openers in Knight Natatorium.
“We have some individuals that can step up and do what they always do, but to win at a high level, we need more of a team effort,” Oakland head coach Pete Hovland said. “Eastern Michigan is a well-coached and talented team, and they wanted to win today a lot more than we did.”
“This was an opportunity for us to swim back-to-back against two really good MAC teams,” Oakland head coach Pete Hovland said, as the squad will also swim Saturday afternoon. “I thought today we responded real well; but we’re halfway there. The true test will be tomorrow and how we handle that.”
