Freeman dove to the 3-meter synchronized diving title with Maren Taylor on Saturday morning at the 2013 USA Diving Winter National Championships. The competition was being held at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center.
Former University of Iowa diver Deidre Freeman advanced to Saturday’s final in the women’s 3-meter synchronized diving event after posting the top preliminary score Friday morning at the USA Diving Winter National Championships.
Iowa took home Swimmer and Diver of the Week, while the freshman award went to Nebraska for the first time.
“We are very excited about this talented group both academically and athletically,” said UI head coach Marc Long. “We expect this group to make a significant impact on the team and at the Big Ten and NCAA level.”
