The University of Cincinnati swimming and diving team will open its 2016-17 season by hosting a dual meet against Michigan State, Friday, Nov. 4 as one of the last schools to have their first meet. Diving will start at 4 p.m. while swimming begins at 5:30 p.m.

Two-time All-America Jacqueline Keire sets to begin her final season with the team, looking to qualify for the NCAA Championships for a fourth and final time. She currently holds the school record in five events (50, 100, 200 and 500 freestyle and the 100 IM) as well as in four relays (200, 400 and 800 freestyle relays and the 400 medley relay). Keire is a two-time AAC Championship Outstanding Female Swimmer and a seven-time conference champion.

Last season, Cincinnati squared off against Michigan State and Bowling Green State in East Lansing, taking away 11 individual wins.

Keire took the 50 and 200 freestyle events and finished second in the 100 freestyle, snapping a streak of 12 consecutive race wins. Juniors Ryan DePietra and Chris Bready paced the men’s side with two individual wins.
