China, Russia Top Medal Table Through Day 4 In Budapest

2017 FINA WORLD AQUATICS CHAMPIONSHIPS

We’re now four days and 12 events into the 2017 FINA World Championships, with a total of 37 medals handed out so far. China has won over 20% of those, and over 40% of the gold medals received so far.

China has gotten all five of their gold medals in diving, and seven of their eight medals. They also earned a silver in the Women’s Duet Technical for synchronized swimming.

Russia sits 2nd with seven medals and three gold. Two of their golds came in synchronized swimming, and the third was won in the men’s 3m synchronized diving, as they upset China.

France has won both open water races so far, and Italy (Mixed Duet Technical) and Australia (Women’s 1m Springboard) each have a gold as well.

13 bronze medals have been handed out as there was a tie between Brazil’s Ana Marcela Cunha and Italy’s Arianna Bridi for 3rd in the women’s 10k.
