Cesar Cielo Swims World-Leading 50 Fly in 2015 Debut

Cesar Cielo kicked off his 2015 season this weekend in Belo Horizonte at the Torneio Metropolitano.

He had initially been scheduled to compete at the Golden Tour meet in France this weekend, but at the last moment decided to stay home and focus on training instead of travel, and he came away with a fairly successful weekend for his decision.

First, he won the 50 fly in a world-leading time of 23.28. In that race, he beat out runner-up Henrique de Souza (24.19) by almost a full second.

The previous fastest time in the world belonged to Florent Manaudou, who was a 23.49 three weeks ago.
