Ceres, CA Swim Coach Arrested for “Inappropriate Communication”

Tracy Bull, a 51-year old swim coach in Ceres, California, has been arrested on allegations of sending “inappropriate communications” to a minor, the Ceres Police Department announced at a press conference on Wednesday.

Bull is a long-time coach with the summer league team the Ceres Dolphins of the local MVSL league, and Police Department Sft. Danny Vierra said the allegations, which have undergone what he called ‘a thorough investigation,’ involved a Ceres Dolphins swimmer between the ages of 14 and 17.

Bull was charged under California Penal Code section 647.6, which can be read in its full here. The penalties for the misdemeanor charge, if Bull is convicted, are up to one year in prison and up to a $5,000 fine.

The team released a statement after the arrest saying that they have suspended Bull from his duties as head coach of the team ‘pending further notice.’

Bull also coached boys water polo and basketball for the Ceres Unified School District, and they told local Fox affiliate Fox40.com that Bull’s employment has been terminated.
