Cari Reiswig wins second-straight Mountain West Diver of Week Award as San Jose State sweeps weekly honors

San Jose State swept the Mountain West Conference’s weekly swimming & diving awards, with freshman diver Cari Reiswig picking up her second-straight award of the season.

Reiswig topped her performances from last week by setting a new school record on the 1-meter springboard. Her winning score of 296.48 against UC-Davis was the best score in Spartan School history by just over a point. She also won the 3-meter springboard in that same dual.

Reiswig remains undefeated in earning this award; the freshman also won last week, which was the first week the Mountain West gave out its weekly honors.

Her freshman teammate Morgan McCormick was named Swimmer of the Week after tripling up on wins at that UC-Davis dual. McCormick swept the backstrokes with times of 56.81 and 2:02.89, plus won the 200 IM with a 1:05.63. Both backstroke times are among the best in the conference this season. McCormick also led off the team’s winning 200 medley relay to finish the meet 4-for-4 on wins. It’s her first weekly MWC award.
