Campbell Women Ease Past Barton On The Road

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C — Campbell University swimming earned first-place finishes in 11 of 14 events in a dual meet against Barton College, securing a 164-98 win over the host Bulldogs.

Brenna Divoky won both breaststroke events for the Fighting Camels, taking top points in the 100 breast (1:11.94) and the 200 breast (2:34.45) while Neringa Cerniauskaite won the 100 free (53.82) and placed second in the 200 free (1:59.17).

Mary Grace Greco also won two events as she placed first in the 100 back (1:00.83) and 100 fly (59.70). In the 100 back, Drew Marshall finished second in 1:01.64, while in the 100 fly, Amanda Charleston finished right behind Greco for second place with a time of 1:00.57.

Marshall also won the 200 back in 2:11.02 and 200 individual medley in 2:14.83, rounding out Campbell’s three student-athletes with multiple individual wins on the day.

Ema Balcuite won the 1,000 free with a time of 11:15.30, finishing one spot ahead of Morgan Hartley’s mark of 11:21.38. Ashlyn Palmer and Charleston also went one-two in the 200 fly with Palmer winning in 2:10.67 and Charleston taking second in 2:15.17.

Annie Sanchez swam a 24.90 in the 50 free to win the event. Campbell claimed both relays with the 200-medley squad of Marshall, Caitlyn Edwards, Palmer and Cerniauskaite winning in 1:53.91 before Cerniauskaite, Zoe Malphurs, Greco and Sanchez won the 400-free relay with a combined time of 3:37.45.

Next weekend, Campbell will take part in the Liberty Invitational, which spans from Nov. 22-24 inside the Liberty Natatorium in Lynchburg, Va.
