Rebecca Yoo, a senior from Burbank, California, will be traveling from the Pacific Coast to the Atlantic Coast this Fall as she has given her verbal commitment for the 2019 class to D-III Rowan University of the Metropolitan Conference. She currently swims for the Blast Sharks Swim Team of the Southern California LSC and Palisades High School.
Rowan University, located in Glassboro, New Jersey, are the reigning conference champions. Currently, Coach Brad Bowser’s program features more than 80% roster from in-state swimmers. Yoo will be the lone swimmer from west of Pennsylvania after she enrolls bringing a Golden State splash to the program.

Yoo has seen her greatest swimming success in the 100 breaststroke, but has shown flashes in the butterfly and IM events. Her best time in the 100 breaststroke (1:10.64) would have placed her into the consolation finals of the 2019 Metro Championships last month. This time was achieved in 2016, however, as she has seen more improvement recently in the 200 breast and 200 IM events.
Best Times:
- 100 Breast: 1:10.64
- 200 Breast: 2:36.25
- 100 Butterfly: 1:03.06
- 200 IM: 2:16.74
The Lady Profs saw three of their own final in the 100 breast at conference and return all three, so Yoo will be jumping into a competitive event. In the 200 breast, an event she earned a a lifetime best this season, she would have placed in the consolation finals, as well, and fourth best on the Rowan squad.
