Boston Area Team Hosting “Marathon Swim” for Marathon Bombing Victims

After the tragic events that unfolded a few weeks ago at the finish of the Boston Marathon, where a pair of explosions killed 3 and injured more than 260, people from around the country have reached out in the interest of brotherhood, understanding, and compassion for the people of Boston.

Within Boston, the outreach in-and-among the chaos has been even greater, and the Boston area Bernal’s Gator Swim Club has joined the efforts to rebuild the spirits and lives of Bostonians affected.

Their practice on Monday, May 13th, will be a “Gator Marathon for Marathon Victims,” with all proceeds being forwarded directly to One Fund Boston.

Spearheading the cause is one Rhi Jeffrey, who has returned stateside to prepare for the 2016 Olympic Trials after pushing for 2012 overseas in New Zealand. In 2004, when she was just 18 years old, Jeffrey won an Olympic gold medal as part of the American 800 free relay. She is currently training with Bernal’s Gator Swim Club, and has set up a webpage that makes it easy to donate online.
