2016 Olympic Games
In Rio, Dovgalyuk swam on the men’s 4×200 free relay, where Russia was seeded 3rd heading into finals. In the final heat, Dovgalyuk anchored the relay, touching 5th overall.
2017 World Championships
In Budapest, Dovgalyuk got his first long course international medal, as Russia rocketed past the USA on the final leg to pick up a silver in the 4×200 free relay. He also swam the 200 free individually, where he went a personal best of 1:45.74 in the semis to qualify in 6th place for the final. In the final heat, he finished 7th overall.
2018 European Championships
In Glasgow, Dovgalyuk had his best meet yet, garnering 3 medals including an individual bronze in the 200 free (1:46.15). He also helped Russia to silver medals in both the men’s and mixed 4×200 free relays.
