Linsay, known as Coops to her teammates, was born in Akron, OH, but was raised in Charlotte, NC. Growing up she swam for SwimMac, and was a part of the swim team at North Meckleburg High School. During her high school career Coops was runner up in the 100 fly at her state championship meet, along with being named Scholastic All-American two years. At Duke, Linsay has continued her sprint freestyle and butterfly career.
Coops swam under Chris Webb at SwimMac where she qualified for and competed at Junior Nationals.
Her freshman year, Linsay was a part of the women’s ACC Championship team, competing in the 50 free, 100 free, and 100 fly. She had best times in her 50 free and 100 fly.
During her sophomore year, Coops had best times in the 50 free, 100 free and 100 fly at the ACC Championship meet.
Linsay is majoring in Evolutionary Anthropology, with aspirations to go to nursing school and eventually go to anesthesia school.
