Justin Glanda
Justin Glanda is a senior at the University of Michigan, where he’s a Business Administration major in the Ross School of Business. Born Oct. 28, 1992 Glanda was an in-state pickup for Michigan – he graduated from Cranbrook Kingswood in Rochester Hills and competed for the Oakland Live Y’ers Swim Team. He’s earned multiple academic accolades – he’s been named to the Dean’s List and the Honor Roll, a three-time University of Michigan Academic-Achievement Award winner, and a two-time Big Ten Distinguished scholar. He also goes to school with his brother, Jareth, who is a member of Michigan’s football team. As a senior on the swimming team Glanda served as team captain, and is known for being a monster relay swimmer. Standing 6’4″ Glanda has been swimming since he was 8 years old. Now, he is a four-time All-American, Honorable Mention All-American, and a four-time Big Ten champion. As a Business student, he’s helped launch BLUE Connect, which is an alumni-undergraduate mentorship program. Although it’s still in its prototype phase, the program has already linked 25 of his Michigan teammates to alumni in the Engineering industry.

Michigan
2011-2012
As a freshman Glanda competed at the Big Ten Championships, but he just missed out on scoring. He finished 17th in the 200 freestyle and 39th in the 100 freestyle.

2012-2013
After not scoring at the Big Ten as a freshman, Glanda qualified for the NCAA Championships. He came in 23rd in the 200 freestyle and 40th in the 100 – he also finished in the top 16 in all three of his individual events at the Big Ten meet.

2013-2014
As a junior Glanda earned NCAA All-America honors in the 800 freestyle relay and 400 freestyle relay. He competed in the 200 and 500 freestyles individually, but as a member of the 800 freestyle relay Glanda broke the NCAA and U.S. Open records. He was named to the All-Big Ten team.

2014-2015
Glanda is currently in his senior season as a Michigan Wolverine. He served as team captain, and earned three All-America honors as a member of the 200, 400 and 800 freestyle relays. He also came in 26th in the 200 freestyle. Glanda also swam three events at the AT&T Winter Nationals.

National Competition
Glanda broke the NCAA and U.S. Open record in the 800 freestyle relay as a junior. The relay was the first squad to break 6:10. In 2012 he competed at the U.S. Olympic Trials, finishing 62nd in the 200m freestyle.

As a high school student Glanda is the Division III State Champion and state record holder in the 200 freestyle and 100 butterfly. He earned Academic All-America honors and was named the Oakland County Swimmer of the Year and the Michigan Division III Swimmer of the Year.
