Julia Cook is a sophomore at Texas A&M from Boerne, Texas. Born April 29, 1995 in San Antonio Cook has been swimming competitively since she was 12 years old. She graduated from Boerne High School, where she swam as a varsity team member all four years. A freestyle and backstroke specialist, Cook swam for Alamo Area Aquatics for four years, coached by Bill Thomas. After graduation Cook chose to swim for A&M due to the friendliness and caring attitude of the team. Standing 5’7″ Cook intends to major in Forensic and Investigative Sciences, and her favorite movie is Sweet Home Alabama.

2013-2014
As a freshman Cook didn’t swim at the conference meet, but she had a great meet at the Art Adamson Invitational. At the invite, she competed in the 50, 100, 200, and 500 freestyle as well as the 100 and 200 backstroke. Her 200 backstroke time was the fifth-fastest on the team.

2014-2015
Cook is currently in her sophomore season as an Aggie. She did not swim at the SEC Championships.

National Competition
During Cook’s high school career, she was a varsity member each season. In her senior season she swam at the Texas state meet, bringing home a silver medal in the 200 freestyle and a sixth-place finish in the 100 backstroke. Cook was a four-year first team All-State in the 200 freestyle and the 100 backstroke.
