Gavin Cooley

Gavin is a student at Noblesville High School where he swims for the high school swim team. Gavin has been swimming since he was eight years old. His first coach was his father at Noblesville Swim Club, but when his dad retired from coaching swimming in 2010, Gavin switched to the Carmel Swim Club. He stayed there for the next five years building a foundation for his swimming career. In 2015, Gavin switched back to Noblesville Swim Club so he could be a club teammate with his high school classmates.

Gavin’s hobbies include reading, writing, listening to music, and giving speeches. He is on the Speech and Debate team at his high school. Formerly a Boy Scout, Gavin enjoys camping, hiking, and anything to do with the outdoors. His favorite genre of book is fiction, but he will also read nonfiction about space or physics. Gavin’s favorite author is John Green, and his favorite band is My Chemical Romance.

Swimming goals for Gavin include swimming in college, Junior National cuts, and just enjoying the sport.
