Evan White

Evan White
Evan White is a Canadian swimmer currently enrolled at the University of Michigan. Born Jan. 23, 1996 White is in his freshman season, and he’s planning to major in Movement Science. Having represented Canada on the international level, White is an IM and butterfly swimmer. In just one season as a Wolverine White was the 2015 Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Year and earned NCAA Honorable Mention All-America honors in the 200 butterfly. According to the rankings on collegeswimming.com White was the 11th-ranked recruit in the class of 2014, and at the time was the top-ranked recruit to commit. Prior to joining the Michigan Squad White had a stellar career in Canada, breaking Canadian age group records and even taking one down that had stood for 32 years. White graduated from Iroquois Ridge High School, and competed club swimming for Oakville Aquatic Club, which is the same team that fellow Michigan swimmer, Bryce Kwiecien-Delaney, also trains with.

2014-2015
White is currently in his freshman season as a Michigan Wolverine. He earned NCAA Honorable Mention honors after finishing 11th in the 200 butterfly, and he just missed the final in the 200 IM as he came in 17th. He took second in both the 200 butterfly and 200 IM, and fourth in the 100 butterfly to win the Co-Freshman of the Year.

International Competition
White broke five Canadian Age Group Records in events including the 200m IM and 100m butterfly. He competed at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, 2014 Pan Pacific Championships, 2013 World Junior Championships in Dubai, and the 2012 Junior Pan Pacific Championships. At the World Junior Championships, White broke the 15-17 Canadian Age Group record again, just after breaking its 32-year-old mark at the Canadian World Championship Trials.
