Danny Kovac

High School

Coming out of high school, Kovac was a member of USA’s National Jr Team, representing the US at the 2018 Jr Pan Pacific Championships. At the Jr pan pacs, Kovac won gold as a part of the winning 4×100 medley relay. He was crowned the 2018 18-under national champion in the 100 fly after being the fastest youth in the event at the 2018 Summer Nationals.

Kovac won a 5A state title in the 100 back in 2016, and was a runner-up in the 100 fly the same year.

College (Missouri)

2018-19

Kovac was an immediate impact addition to the tigers. At the SEC Championships, Kovac placed 5th in the 200 IM (1:43.75), 7th in the 100 fly (46.20) and 15th in the 100 breast (53.20). He was also part of Mizzou’s SEC Champion 400 medley relay team, which set an SEC meet and pool record, and swam on the 4th place 200 free relay and 400 free relay teams.

At the NCAA Championships, Kovac swam on Missouri’s 7th place 400 medley relay, and was a member of the 9th place 200 free relay, 12th place 400 free relay and 15th place 200 medley relay. Individually, he finished 18th in the 100 fly (45.77) and 26th in the 200 IM (1:43.75).
