Courtney Weaver

Courtney Weaver
Courtney Weaver is a freshman at the University of Georgia. Born Feb. 19, 1996, Weaver was born on leap year, which means she technically is only five years old. She claims, “I really do act my age.” Originally from Davidson, Mich. she attended Davidson High School and swam for Greater Flint YMCA Falcons. She’s been a member of the USA Swimming Junior National Team for multiple years, and acted as team captain during 2013. After taking a good look at other universities including Florida and Texas A&M, Georgia was the best fit, and she added to one of the top classes in history. She’s undecided on her major.

University of Georgia
2014-2015
Weaver has posted NCAA ‘B’ cuts in the 200 IM and 100 butterfly.

International Competition
Weaver broke the national record in the 200 butterfly at the 2014 YMCA Nationals by .01 seconds, which was previously held by Georgia teammate, Hali Flickinger. She’s currently on the 2014-2015 USA Swimming National Team after a great swim in the 200m butterfly at the Phillips 66 National Championships – the swim ranked her 31st in the world. She was a captain on the 2013 FINA Junior World Championship Team, which she qualified for in the 100m butterfly, an event that had been overshadowed by her success in the 200.

At the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials Weaver finished 16th in the 200m butterfly. She was also the 2011 Junior National Champion in the 200m butterfly, which got her a roster spot on the Junior National Team. The following summer she was a member of the Junior Pan Pacs Team.
