Charlie started swimming for a summer swim league but eventually moved on to a year-round club team. During his swim career, he was a member of the Cincinnati Sports Club Flying Fish and the Cincinnati Aquatics Club Team. After completing his high school career, Charlie took his talents to Cleveland where he competes for John Carroll University and majors in computer science.
Swimming for the Archbishop Moeller High School team under direction of Bill Whatley, Charlie was a breaststroke specialist. Like many swimmers, Charlie credits the program with teaching him how to manage his time and work hard to achieve his goals.
2014-2015: Charlie continued to compete in breaststroke events for the John Carroll Blue Streaks. He also contributed in the Individual Medley and medley relays. In his freshman season, Charlie swam best times in all his events and placed top 9 in his individual events at the Ohio Athletic Conference meet.
