Basil Orr
Basil Orr is a breaststroke and IM specialist from Athens, Ga. Orr swam for the Dynamo Swim Club, and decided to attend the University of Georgia in the same class as a few of his Dynamo teammates including Gunnar Bentz and the Litherland triplets. Born Aug. 23, 1995 to Mac and Betsy, Orr is currently a freshman, but he’s already decided to study engineering. Orr graduated from St. Pius X High School where he was the runner up at the 2013 state championships in the 100 breaststroke. He was a member of St. Pius X’s 2014 state championship. Although he does have have impressive short times, Orr has historically excelled in the long course season – he’s earned summer Junior National time standards in both of his breaststroke distances and in the 200m IM.

University of Georgia
2014-2015
Orr is in his freshman season as a Georgia Bulldog. He competed at the 2015 SEC Championships finishing 34th in the 200 IM, 27th in the 100 breaststroke and 28th in the 200 breaststroke.

National Competition
During his career at St. Pius X High School Orr set a Georgia high school record in the 100 breaststroke and was also a member of the 400 medley relay that broke the state record. He was a three-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American and helped the Dynamo Swim Club win three Junior National Championships.
