Ashley McGregor
Ashley McGregor is a Canadian breaststroke specialist currently training at Texas A&M. Born in Montreal, McGregor graduated from John Rennie high school in Pointe-Claire, Quebec. She competed for the Pointe-Claire Swim Club, and chose A&M because of its great team, atmosphere and coaches. McGregor has represented Canada at multiple elite-level meets including the World University Games and the Canadian World Championship Trials. The Canadian Senior National Athlete speaks both English and French, and enjoys scrapbooking and shopping. Her specialty is the 100 and 200 breaststroke events, and she holds the Canadian 15-17 Age Group Record in the short course 200m breaststroke. Although McGregor is a specialty swimmer, she is a great IMer – her third event is the 200 IM, which she has competed at the NCAA Championships three years in a row. McGregor is a multi-time NCAA All-American, and at the NCAA Championships she has consecutively made it into the top final of the 200 breaststroke.

Texas A&M
2012-2013
As a freshman McGregor earned an NCAA ‘A’ cut in the 200 breaststroke, and she finished eighth in the NCAA Championships in the same event. McGregor was an immediate impact swimmer her first season – she scored 50 points at the SEC Championships, including her bronze medal finish in the 200. After her first season she ranked third on the Aggie all-time list in both breaststroke events.

2013-2014
In her second year McGregor had an even bigger season, scoring 75 points at the SEC Championships. She qualified for the NCAA meet, coming in 13th in the 100 breaststroke and fifth in the 200 breaststroke. McGregor swam a sub-1:00 100 breaststroke, and her new 200 time put her at the second-fastest in program history.

2014-2015
McGregor is currently in her junior season as an Aggie. At the conference meet she finished 23rd in the 200 IM, seventh in the 100 breaststroke and fourth in the 200 breaststroke. At the NCAA Championships McGregor finished 46th in the 200 IM, 20th in the 100 breaststroke and seventh in the 200 breaststroke.

International Competition
From 2009 McGregor was a Senior National Teamer for Canada. Competing for Pointe-Claire Swim Club McGregor was the recipient of both the Victor Davis Award in 2010 and 2012 as well as the Ironman Award in 2011. McGregor swam at the Canadian World Championship Trials in 2013, where she came in 3rd in the 200m breaststroke, 4th in the 100m breaststroke and eighth in the 50m – her performance put her on Canada’s World University Games squad. At the World University Games held in Russia, McGregor fought her way into the semi-finals of the 200m breaststroke.
