Alex Vutech

Alex Vutech

Alex Vutech was born in Lebanon, NH on November 9th, 1993 to parents Tambrey and Kenneth Vutech. She grew up in Woodstock, VT where she learned to swim at the Woodstock Recreation Center at the age of five. She began to compete in summer league on the Woodstock Swim Team at the age of six with her older sister Ashley. From there, she began competing on the CCBA Swordfish under Coach K.C. Shepherd. When her club team was dissolved in 2010, Alex joined the Upper Valley Aquatic Club in White River Junction, Vermont for her junior and senior years of high school under coach Dorsi Raynolds. Alex completed her freshmen year of college at Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, Illinois. After an 18 month hiatus from swimming, Alex transferred to Simmons College in Boston, MA, where she began competing at the Division III level under Head Coach Mindy Williams. In addition, Alex went back to where her swimming career started, and began coaching Woodstock Swim Team in the summer of 2014. Alex is currently training in breaststroke, and has recently begun competing in distance. She can often be found dancing and singing on the pool deck, in addition to showing her extreme Simmons Sharks pride by wearing a foam Shark fin on her back.

Club

In high school Alex competed in the New Hampshire Swim Association with both the CCBA Swordfish and the Upper Valley Aquatic Club. She was an age-group qualifier and competed at the New England Regional meet each year. She posted a life-time best in the 200 Breaststroke her senior year at the State Championships.
