Big 12 School Duel Meet Recap – TCU vs. Kansas & Iowa State vs. SDSU

10/17/13 – TCU vs. Kansas Women

The women of Kansas faced off in Forth Worth, Texas against the horned frogs of Texas Christian University. TCU would go on to win the meet, 176-124.

Lyndsie Gibson won the 100 backstroke from TCU at 57.07. Her teammate Catherine Rash took the 200 butterfly in 2:03.63. In the 50, Julie Sanders would dip under 24 to finish at 23.89 in the 50 freestyle. And Hannelore Strash had the fastest 100 butterfly at 56.40.

Kansas won the 200 medley relay, 100 breaststroke, 100 freestyle, 200 backstroke and 200 IM. Bryce Hinde finished the 100 breaststroke at 1:04.64. While Chelsie Miller hit the wall at 2:06.70 in the individual medley.

10/18/13 – Iowa State at South Dakota State University Women

Iowa State traveled to South Dakota for the weekend, dueling up South Dakota State on Friday. Iowa State was victorious 183, to SDSU, 112.

Karyl Clarete for Iowa State won the 200 freestyle easily, finishing in 1:52.17, three seconds ahead of the field of swimmers. She would come back later in the meet to take the 200 IM by ten seconds in 2:09.14.

Marissa Engel and Kristy Kunkel would both finish under 1:00 in the 100 backstroke, 59.09 and 59.97 respectively. Amanda Paulson swam the 100 butterfly in 58.13 to take the event.

In their only win of the night, Emily Campbell from South Dakota State University took the 200 breaststroke in 2:22.21.
