For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Richmond, Virginia’s Jacob Oberle recently committed to swim at Penn State University for 2020-21. He will join Ben Doyle in the class of 2024.

“I am beyond excited and thrilled to announce my commitment to continue my Swimming and Academic career at Penn State University!! I am excited to join such an amazing coaching staff and team. I would like to thank my parents, teammates, and coaches who have got me to where I am today!! GO NITTANY LIONS!!”

Oberle is a senior at Richmond’s Godwin High School and swims year-round at NOVA of Virginia Aquatics. His best times in those events come from this spring’s Virginia Swimming Short Course Senior Championships and from the 2019 NCSA Spring Championship, although he swam his best 100 backstroke at 2018 Winter Juniors East. Oberle competed this summer at the Virginia LSC Long Course Championships in the 50 free, 100/200 back, and 100 fly. He was a finalist in the 100 back.
