Backstroker Gracie Storm Verbally Commits to Toledo

Gracie Storm of Harveysburg, Ohio has verbally committed to The University of Toledo for the 2017-18 season. Storm is a backstroke specialist who swims for Clinton Massie High School and Countryside YMCA. She has swum the 100 back and 500 free in the Ohio State Division 2 Swimming Championships in each of the last three years, reaching as high as 15th-place in the 100 back last season.

In club swimming she has competed in all three backstroke events (50/100/200) at YMCA National Championships in both the LCM and SCY formats, throughout her high school career. At the LCM YNats this past July, she finished 44th in the 50, 50th in the 100, and 40th in the 200m back.

Her best SCY times are:

  • 100 back – 58.70
  • 200 back – 2:05.13
  • 500 free – 5:12.99
  • 1000 free – 10:47.07
  • 1650 free – 18:07.86

Storm is just barely outside of scoring range for the Mid-American Conference, as the MAC only runs an A-final and a B-final at its championship meet.
