2012 London Olympic silver medalist, Australia’s Emily Seebohm, now faces one more challenge on this final stretch leading up the World Championships slated for late July.
Earlier we reported that Seebohm’s long-time coach, Matt Brown, was moving to Melbourne, leaving Seebohm searching for a new coach in her home of Brisbane. Now, Seebohm is dealing with a minor knee injury, as revealed via the swimmer’s twitter account:
Per Seebohm, her knee cap suffered a dislocation, but no major damage resulted. When asked on Twitter how the injury came to pass, Seebohm responded “just a freak accident.”
Swimming enthusiasts will no doubt be hoping for a swift recovery, as the 2015 Australian national champion in the women’s 200m IM, 100m backstroke 50m backstroke, 200m backstroke has set herself up to be one of the primary candidates to upset 2012 Olympic gold medalist, Missy Franklin, in the backstroke races in Kazan.
