Audrey McMurry Gives Verbal Pledge to In-State Texas A&M

Audrey McMurry, a mid-distance freestyle/IMer from Keller, Texas, has made a verbal commitment to swim for the Texas A&M Aggies for 2017-18.

“I’m very excited to announce my verbal commitment to Texas A&M! I chose A&M because the women’s program is separate from the men’s and because I really just believe in the coaching at A&M. Plus the girls on the team are so talented and competitive but they also have fun with swimming! Gig ’em!!”

McMurry swims for Keller High School and North Texas Nadadores. As a sophomore she placed sixth in the 200 IM and in the 500 free at the Texas 6A State Championships; as a freshman, she was seventh in both the 200/500 freestyles. In club swimming she competed in the 100/200/500/1650y free and 200/400y IM at 2015 Speedo Winter Juniors West, making the B final in the 500. At Austin Sectionals in June she made the championship finals in the 100/200/400m free and 200m fly, and the consolation finals in the 50 free and 200/400m IM. McMurray capped her long course season at Speedo Summer Juniors, where she swam the 100/200/400/800m free and 200m IM.

His best SCY times are:

  • 1650 free – 16:42.05
  • 1000 free – 10:06.11

  • 200 free – 1:49.26
  • 400 IM – 4:20.50
