Athletic Legacy Connor Richmond Sends Verbal to Dartmouth

Connor Richmond, an All-American breaststroker and IMer from Kingwood, Texas, has announced his verbal commitment to the application process at Dartmouth College.*He will join the class of 2022, suiting up for the Big Green exactly 99 years after his Great-Great Uncle Karl Williams (class of 1923), who competed on some of the first Dartmouth Varsity Wrestling teams.

Richmond is a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American from Kingwood High School, which was recently profiled by SwimSwam after taking damage from Hurricane Harvey. As a junior, he was a 2017 Texas High School 6A State Finalist in the 100 breast, 200 IM, and 200 medley relay. He posted lifetime bests during the high school championship season in the 200 IM (1:51.40) and 100 breast (56.95). He swam the butterfly leg on Kingwood’s All-American 200 medley relay, splitting a 22.59 at Regionals.

Richmond also swims for the Blue Tide Aquatics National Team and is a Winter Juniors Qualifier in the 100/200 Breast and 200/400 IM. At 2017 NCSA Spring Championship, he was a finalist in the 100 breast (56.93) and 200 breast (2:04.02). He is also a former 4-time Texas Age Group State (TAGS) Champion. His top SCY times

Richmond has had an outstanding start to his senior year, improving his PBs in the SCY 50/100/500 free, 100/200 back, 100/200 breast, 100 fly, and 200/400 IM. Both breaststrokes and both IMs came from Winter Juniors West last weekend, where he went 4/4 in best times.

Richmond would have scored for Dartmouth at 2017 Ivy League Men’s Championships in the 100 breast (B final), 200 breast (C final) and 400 IM (C final). His top SCY times include:

  • 100 breast – 56.74
  • 200 breast – 2:02.71
  • 50 fly(r) – 22.59
  • 100 fly – 51.47
  • 200 IM – 1:51.03
  • 400 IM – 4:01.19
  • 500 free – 4:37.57
