Aquajets, Chicago Wolfpack Double At Lewisville Futures Day 4

2017 FUTURES — LEWISVILLE

Swimmers from the Aquajets of Minnesota and the Chicago Wolfpack each won a pair of events to close out the final day of the Lewisville Futures Championship.

The Aquajets got two wins late in the finals session. Anderson Breazeale went 2:07.92 to rattle off a 200 back win, beating the field by almost a full second. In the very next event on the boys side, Dolan Craine went 2:08.25 to win the 200 IM and cap off the meet with back-to-back Aquajets wins.

In between was the girls 200 IM, where another Aquajet, Madison Potter, was second, but that event went to the Springfield YMCA’s Kaitlynn Wheeler in 2:21.15.

The Wolfpack got an early win courtesy of distance man Jacob Furlong, who followed up his 200 and 400 free wins with an 800 free title in 8:18.29. Later in the finals session, his teammate Reilly Shields won the 100 freestyle, going 52.13. With Shields winning the 50 and 100, those two gave the Wolfpack a sweep of all freestyle events outside of the 1500 free on the boys side.

Other winners inclued 15-year-old Evelyn Bruner in the girls 100 free (57.63), Patricia van Law in the girls 200 back (2:17.26) and Sara McClendon in the girls 1500 free (17:15.36).
