2018 MEN’S NCAA SWIMMING & DIVING CHAMPIONSHIPS

Through the front half of tonight’s 1650 free, Michigan’s Felix Auboeck and NC State’s Anton Ipsen were in the hunt as Ipsen held a slight lead. Ipsen took off after the 1000-yard mark, however, pulling ahead steadily throughout the closing 650 to win by body lengths in 14:24.43.

Splits:

  • 500 Split- 4:21.94
  • 1000 Split- 8:44.73
  • Final Time- 14:24.43

That was a lifetime best by Ipsen, blowing away his former best 14:31.21 from the 2018 ACC Championships. It also earned him his first ever individual NCAA title.
