Men’s Meet
The Denver men went 6-for-6 and have now won the first 13 events of the meet. The night kicked off with a 400 medley relay win that was a foreshadowing of individual event wins to come for the Pioneers.
Anton Loncar, Tim Cottam, Andrew Torres and William Van Dehy went 3:14.00 to win the event by nearly 7 seconds over South Dakota State, with all four men putting up the fastest splits in their respective strokes.
Loncar, Cottam and Torres would go on to win the 100 back, breast and fly, respectively.
Loncar hit 48.11 in the back to pick up the win, and Van Dehy added a 49.49 in second. Jared Smith was third to give Denver a sweep of the top three.
One event earlier, Cottam won the breaststroke, breaking the Summit League record with a 53.00. That was the best time by two full seconds in another Denver 1-2-3.
Torres was the 100 fly champ, going 47.47 and just missing a conference record of his own. In that race, Western Illinois’ Chris Neaveill gave Torres a run, leading at the 50 and ending up second in 48.02.
Another conference record went down in the 400 IM, where Jeremiah Zgliczynski went 3:48.42 for Denver. That took a half second off the record he set last season.
Denver also went 1-2-3-4 in the 200 free, led by Ray Bornman‘s 1:34.42, which was also a new Summit League record.

Women’s Meet
Sam Corea won three times on the women’s side in just 7 events, leading the Denver Pioneers further into the lead.
Corea swept the 100 fly and 100 back, going 51.70 to shatter the conference record by two seconds in the fly and 52.76 to win the backstroke.
Second in that backstroke was Joanna Roas, who teamed with Corea for the 400 medley relay win. Roas led off and Corea swam fly, with Amanda Sanders (breaststroke) and Drew Matthews (free) rounding out the relay. That crew smashed the Summit League record by 2 seconds, going 3:36.15. Corea’s 51.06 fly split was the best in the field by five seconds.
Sanders went on to win the 100 breast, going 1:01.45 for a new Summit League record.
Denver also went 1-2-3 in the 400 IM, led by Maddie Myers‘ 4:13.14, which just snuck under the conference record. The old record-holder was Bridgette McNally, who took second in 4:15.13.
The 200 free went to Denver’s Morgan Mullenix, who outlasted Sam Schuttinger of South Dakota 1:48.74 to 1:48.97 in the night’s closest finish.
The only event Denver didn’t win was 1-meter diving, where Greysen Hertting nabbed the title for South Dakota with 293.00 points.
