FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State Swimming & Diving team will host a dual vs. Pacific at noon Saturday at the Fresno Aquatics Center, head coach Jeanne Fleck announced on Thursday.

The meet was scheduled to take place in Stockton but ongoing air quality concerns from recent wildfires necessitated the move to Fresno. It will become the fourth home meet for the Bulldogs this season as the ‘Dogs will compete in their third dual meet so far this year. Admission is free for all Fresno State swimming & diving home meets.

The Bulldogs have a 2-1 record in duals this year, losing to Nevada before beating both Fresno Pacific and Pomona-Pitzer in the Aquatics Center on Nov. 3. Fresno State also hosted the six-team Chick-Fil-A Invitational and took part in the CSUB Sprint Classic in its first two events of the season.

That double-dual vs. Fresno Pacific and Pomona-Pitzer was the last time the swimmers competed, by diver Kelli Funk was in action last weekend at the Trojan Diving Invitational. The senior had a strong showing for the ‘Dogs, placing fourth on both 3-meter and platform in a field of more than 20 divers while finishing ahead of seven Pac-12 divers in Los Angeles.

The Fresno State swimmers won 11 of 14 events in the double-dual wins, with Ugne Mazutaityte and Gabbie Libang each winning two events while Funk won both diving events. Lucy Davies, Stephanie Bartel, Osianna Mcreed, Kimberly Harbert, Emma Monnich, and Manuela Mendolicchio also earned swimming wins in the meet.

For the season freshman Brenda Diaz Martinez has the top times on the team in the 200, 500, and 1000 Freestyle as well as the 200 IM and 400 IM. McReed leads the sprint events, Mazutaityte leads in both backstroke events, Mendolicchio leads in the breaststroke, and Harbert has the top times in the butterfly.

Pacific has only competed in one swimming meet this season as it hosted the two-day PAC Invite. The Tigers finished second among six teams in the meet, trailing only Nevada and finishing ahead of four schools including New Mexico and San Jose State. The Tiger divers also took part in the Lancer Diving Invite on Oct. 20.
