Air Force tops University of Denver Men’s Swimming and Diving

The University of Denver men’s swimming and diving fell to Air Force 187.5- 162.5 on Saturday in Colorado Springs.

“Today was a tough loss to take,” head swim coach Brian Schrader said. “I felt we raced well. Air Force was good today and it was an event format we welcome, but perhaps doesn’t play to our current strengths. Dylan Bunch was great, as was Jeremiah Zgliczynski. We also saw some great racing from Kyle MilbergKyle Robrock and Patrick Guillory.”

Kyle Robrock (Savage, Minn.) led the Pioneers, posting three individual event wins. The sophomore was victorious in all three heats of the 50 back (23.32), (23.37) and (23.17).

Claiming two top times for Denver was Dylan Bunch (Boulder City, Nev.). Bunch garnered first-place in the 200 free (1:41.55) and the 500 free (4:36.37). Also swimming to individual wins were Jeremiah Zgliczynski (Littleton, Colo.) and Kyle Milberg(Littleton, Colo.). Zgliczynski won the 200 IM (1:52.80), while Milberg came away with a first in the 50 fly (22.39).

Pioneer Ross Edfort (Somerset, N.J.) once again received the best scores in diving. The junior placed first in the 3-meter dive (325.70) and third in the 1-meter dive (276.80).

“The Air Force Diving Invitational is a great meet for us,” head diving coach Channing Kimball said. “It offers strong competition and helps prepare the divers for the conference championship. Each diver had improvements, and Ross did a great job making finals on each board. We had a great time and feel energized as we approach the conference meet.”

The University of Denver swimming and diving teams next travel to The Summit League Championships Wednesday, Feb. 19 in Indianapolis, Ind.
