Adam Peaty Raffles Off Olympic Swim Suit For Nat’l Health Service

World record-holding breaststroker Adam Peaty is using his time under quarantine to raise money for Great Britain’s National Health Service (NHS).

The 25-year-old Peaty announced on social media this week that he’d be raffling off the racing suit he wore at the 2016 Rio Olympics. The Olympic 100 breast champ is selling raffle tickets for £10 each.

Peaty writes:

Tomorrow at 10am I’ll be riding 100km with @callumtheone @ryanricho93 to raise money for the Charities that support the NHS. Over 200 people have already signed up to take part, you need a bike and a turbo and @gozwift – if you don’t have these you can still watch and support! You’ll have the opportunity to chat with us along the way! ALONGSIDE this I will be holding a raffle soon to auction off my racing trunks that I swam in at the Rio 2016 Olympics with each raffle ticket @£10 each. Remember this is a great cause especially in times like these!

The National Health Service is the United Kingdom’s publicly-funded healthcare system. Peaty is helping raise money for the organization amidst the worldwide pandemic over the 2019 novel coronavirus and the associated COVID-19 illness. Per the World Health Organization, the United Kingdom has 55,246 confirmed cases of coronavirus, along with 6,159 deaths.

As we reported earlier, Peaty also announced that he’d be biking 100 kilometers on a stationary bike to raise money for charities that support the NHS. Per Peaty’s post, more than 500 people participated in the virtual bike race. Peaty said he had some technical issues that kept him from pushing with the lead pack in the race. The race also included boxer Callum Johnson.

Peaty writes:

100Km DOWN! That was a lot harder than I thought, so sorry I had technical problems at 20km in, fixed by 57km but couldn’t work my way back to the leaders! A huge Thankyou to everyone that was involved, it’s great to see so many people (over 500) come together and raise money for the NHS. If you still can donate it’ll be in my story, if you want to win my Rio 2016 a race trunks then enter the raffle too please!
