26 Athletes Set to Represent Singapore at the Southeast Asian Games

This year’s Southeast Asian Games will be held in Singapore with the swimming events running from June 6th-11th. The host country has announced the names of 26 athletes who will be representing their nation.

Singapore finished atop of the medal standings at the 2013 games earning 30 medals in total; 11 gold, nine silver and 10 bronze.

All four of the athletes that garnered individual gold at the 2013 games will be competing at the 2015 games.

Joseph Schooling and Zheng Wen Quah both won individual events in 2013. Schooling won the 100 and 200 butterfly as well as the 200 IM in 2013. Schooling also set new games records in both the 100 butterfly and 200 IM. Zheng took gold in the men’s 400 IM.

Li Tao and Amanda Lim took individual titles in the female events. Li won both the 100 backstroke and 100 butterfly while Lim won the 50 freestyle in a new games record.

The nation was also victorious in the men’s 4 x 100 and 200 freestyle relays and the female 4 x 100 medley and 4 x 200 freestyle.

Benedict Boon, Christopher Cheong, Lionel Khoo, Dylan Koo, Clement Lim, Malcolm Low, Zach Ong, Sheng Jun Pang, Zheng Wen Quah, Joseph Schooling, Zhen Ren Teo and Danny Yeo.

Women:

Christie Chue, Roanne Ho, Chantal Liew, Amanda Lim, Meagan Lim, Shana Lim, Jing Wen Quah, Ting Wen Quah, Hannah Quek, Jing-E Tan, Li Tao, Rachel Tseng, Chloe Wang and Samantha Yeo.
