2021 West Fargo Futures Day 3: Aidan Reagan Posts 54.53 100 Fly Personal Best

On the 3rd day of the West Fargo Futures meet, 18-year-old Aidan Reagan of Flying Fish Arizona Swim Team posted a huge personal best to win the men’s 100 fly. Reagan clocked a 54.53, winning the race by over a second after speeding to a 25.18 on the first 50. His personal best coming into the meet was 56.39, marking an improvement of almost 2 seconds.

Oleksiy Polishchuk, a 22-year-old from Razorback Aquatic Club Aquahawks, won the men’s 200 breast handily, swimming a 2:19.79. The swim was just off his personal best of 2:18.24.

Gold Medal Swim Club’s Jack Luken, 17, won a tight race with North Texas Nadadores 17-year-old Mason Edmund in the men’s 400 free. Luken ultimately won the race in 4:00.12, with Edmund right behind in 4:00.32. The pair remained side-by-side through the 300m mark, then Luken opened up a 0.65-second lead at the 350m mark. Edmund outsplit Luken on the final 50, but it wasn’t enough, and Luken got his hand on the wall 0.20 seconds ahead of him. The swim marked a personal best by 5 seconds for both swimmers.

Lillie Nordmann took the women’s 100 fly in 59.48, winning the race by 2.5 seconds. Nordmann was well off her personal best of 57.96, which she swam in 2019.

Highlands Ranch Aquatics 21-year-old Andrea Perttula clocked a 2:36.48 to win the women’s 200 breast, dropping 3 seconds from her previous best. KATY’s Tonni McNeese swam a 4:17.45 to win the women’s 400 free. McNeese has a personal best of 4:12.90, which she swam 2 months ago.
