Ian Grum star of the day.
New best time for Maggie Wanezek in 2.13.27. Missy Franklin was in 2.15.83 at 13. Regan Smith in 2.13.72. Elizabeth Beisel in 2.11.68. Alex Walsh in 2.10.55. Let’s see her 100 now.
Impressive 400 IM by 13-year-old Leah Hayes. Wow! Looks like there’s a wake-up right now in the US women’s 400 IM thanks to the new generation led by Emma Weyant. 4.46.48 is probably the fastest time ever for a 13-year-old US girl. Beisel was in 4.50.31 at 13. Becca Mann holds the 13/14 NAG record in 4.39.76.
Another PB for 15-year-old Rafael Gu in the 100 free in 50.93. Caeleb Dressel was in 50.85 at 15. Ian Crocker in 50.60.

Does Maggie have any relation to Sarah Wanezek that swam at Texas? She is scary fast for being 13!

Whole thing that there is way less pressure on the B final, and you can only win the event if you place in the top 8 in preliminaries.

Dynamo has a pretty stellar 200 back resume. Michael Taylor a few years ago, now Rye Ulett, Sophie Brison (14 year old from the B final who swam a 2:13), and Ian Grum. Something is working there.
