2019 NCAA Offseason Coaching Carousel: Hiring Season in Full Swing

Within about two weeks of the conclusion of the 2018-2019 NCAA swimming & diving championship season, there were well over 10 Division I head coaching positions available.

Hires began to trickle in slowly at the beginning of May, and now – almost two months removed from the end of the season – we’re seeing an influx of big-time hires.

Below, we’ve laid out the current state of major Division I openings. For head coaches, there are now ten vacancies remaining, headlined by the UCLA spot.

Two women leaving coaching on this list, which is all but one, devoid of women getting these open positions….the question, as always–where are the women swimming coaches in college ranks?

There are several, Catherine Vogt, Katie Robinson, Kate Kovenock, Mandy Commons-DiSalle, Tanica Jamison just to name a few who could take on these jobs. Of course, they would leave holes in other jobs but there are several rising stars among the female college coaches.

Catherine was an applicant for UNC, but withdrew her name. She, like many others, became frustrated with the process that was going on there.
