Heat sheets for the 1st day of the 2016 USA College Challenge have been posted online. The heat sheets include individual races, but no relay entries.

See day 1 heat sheets here.

For the National Team, Tom Shields is in only 1 individual race on the first day – his specialty, the 100 fly. He’ll be a heavy favorite to win that race individually, and with each swimmer able to swim 6 events, it’s likely that he’ll be included in both of the day’s relay events: the 400 medley relay and 800 free relay. That race will also be the lone individual event on the day for Michael Andrew of the National Team.

Leah Smith, a senior at Virginia, is swimming only the 500 free individually on day 1 for the National Team, even though she ranks 4th in the NCAA this season. Michigan’s Rose Bi, meanwhile, will double on the 500 free and 400 IM.

Racing will begin at 4:30 PM Eastern Time and can be watched live both online and on the Big Ten Network.
