Thiago Pereira Scratches 200 Fly On Day 2 of Santa Clara PSS

2016 ARENA PRO SWIM SERIES AT SANTA CLARA

There’s only one new scratch out of the top seeds heading into day 2 of the Arena Pro Swim Series at Santa Clara, and that comes from Brazil’s Thiago Pereira.

Pereira was slated to swim a tough 200 fly/100 back double on Saturday, but has dropped the former race. Pereira was the 17th seed in the 200 fly.

He swam the 100 breast on Friday, going 1:02.02 for 5th place overall. He’ll now swim only the 100 back on Saturday, and is entered in the 200 IM on Sunday.

The only other scratches between the heat sheets and psych sheet were swimmers who scratched out Friday and appear to be taking the meet off. That list includes Dana Vollmerwho was to be the 3rd seed in the 50 free, Kendyl Stewartwho had high seeds in the 50 free and 100 back, and Canadian Emily Overholt, who was set to swim the 200 fly and 400 free. Also out is Trojan Swim Club’s Cristian Quintero, a Venezuelan national who was entered in the 50 free and 400 free on Saturday.

Full heat sheets available on Meet Mobile.
