Chase Kinney led the charge for the Wisconsin women, who beat Green Bay 181-107.

Kinney, a junior, took the 100 free in a very strong time of 49.35, the only competitor under 52 seconds in that event. She also won the 100 fly (55.19). Her presence was felt most on relays, perhaps, where she led off the 200 free relay in 22.79 after blasting a 21.77 anchor leg on the opening medley relay.

In her only event of the day, Danielle Valley rocked a 16:14.76 to win the mile. This was a victory by nearly one minute, and it is only tenths off of her season best which came at Wisconsin’s midseason rest meet in December.

Anna Meinholz added two wins of her own for the Badgers, first taking the 100 breast (1:03.05) and then the 200 back (2:01.73). With no Meinholz in the 200 breast, Wisconsin’s Maria Carlson grabbed a win with a 2:16.28.

Cannon Clifton struck gold in both of his individuals, blowing out a huge 43.32 in the 100 free. That ties his 20th-ranked time in the country, which was done previously at the Texas Invite in December with an assumed amount of rest. He also took the 100 fly in 48.13.

Clifton, who continues to develop as an elite sprinter, flexed his muscles in the medley relay, dropping a 19.38 anchor on the B relay. He also led off the A 200 free relay in 20.09.

Austin Byrd won two events of his own, taking the 100 back in a convincing 47.32 and following that up with a victory in the 200 IM (1:49.01). Byrd led off the medley relay in a quick 22.21, making it clear that Wisconsin has recovered after losing elite backstroker Drew teDuits to graduation.

Taking a break off from distance, Matthew Hutchins scorched a 1:37.85 in the 200 free.

The Badger men won this one, 179-113.
