The following is a press release courtesy of the Horizon League:

INDIANAPOLIS—Wright State’s Clement Quilliec (Brest, France) and Samantha Miller (Fremont, Ohio) have been named the Horizon League Men’s and Women’s Swimmers of the Week while Milwaukee’s K.J. Heger (Rockford, Ill.) and Rachel Margis (Racine, Wis.) have been named Horizon League Men’s and Women’s Divers of the Week for the week of Jan. 20-26. This is the third weekly accolade for Quilliec and Margis, respectively.  Heger is honored for the eighth time this season and second week in a row.

The Wright State men’s team took the water against Xavier and conference-foe Cleveland State this past week, winning both dual meets. Quilliec had impressive performances for the Raiders, winning four individual events and one relay. On Friday, the sophomore set the pool record at Xavier in the 100-breaststroke with a first-place time of 57.02. Facing the Vikings, Quilliec won the 100-breaststroke for the second time in two days with an even faster time of 55.79. He also won the 200-breaststroke in a time of 2:03.59 and the 200-individual medley finishing at 1:51.56.

Miller was victorious for the women’s Raiders’ squad, winning four individual events and a member of the winning 400 free relay at Cleveland State. The junior set a pool record in the 100-freestyle at Xavier with a time of 52.84. Versus the Vikings, she won the 200-freestyle in a time of 1:57.33, the 50-freestyle taking first-place with a time of 24.27 and the 100-freestyle hitting the mat at 53.78.

Heger continued to dominate the diving boards for Milwaukee, winning three of his four events this past week. Taking on divers from Ball State and IUPUI, the senior placed first in the one-meter with a score of 314.65. At the UIC Invitational, he swept both boards with winning totals of 312.50 on the one-meter diving board and 370.40 during the three-meter competition. All four of his diving scores in the two meets met NCAA Zone Qualifying marks.

Margis led the way for Milwaukee to obtain honors her second-straight week while winning all four events she competed in. Against Ball State and IUPUI, the junior tallied winning scores of 272.20 in the one-meter competition and 282.85 on the three-meter board. Her score totals increased at the UIC Invitational as Margis won the one-meter with 289.50 points and the three-meter with a total of 306.85.

Milwaukee is back in action on January 31 when the team travels north to compete against Green Bay. Wright State takes a short break from competition and resumes on February 7 to face Ohio State in Columbus, Ohio.
