Vinny Marciano is swimming with the “old” guys at the 2014 Speedo Championship Series LC Meet in Buffalo, NY. The 12 year old finished 13th in the 100 backstroke, touching the wall with a 1:00.33. He was entered into an “open” event and was the youngest swimmer in the finals by several years.

Marciano was just off the record with his seed time at 1:01.60. The previous record was set in 2009 by Seth Beer at 1:01.35. In prelims, Marciano broke the record for the first time with a 1:00.42 and then got it again tonight in finals.

Huge record!
Next goal is to break the minute barrier.

Hopefully Vinny Marciano and Destin Lasco will swim against each other next summer.
