Missy Franklin wanted to get more points tonight, and said she was somewhat disappointed. She wanted to earn more points for her team. Yet, a nice 47.0 split on relay!

She is ready for more backstroke this summer.

She is off to the Laureus Awards in Malaysia.

Look forward to watching her SHINE in both backstroke and freestyle this summer!

I hope Missy still knows how to swim backstroke after her first college season.
At the same time her freestyle looks stronger than ever. I predict she will swim a stunning 200 free in long course next summer. Something in the 1.53. The 200 free is her best event in short course and her second best in long course behind the 200 back, her baby race.

Missy is so versatile that a lot is expected of her. 47.0 is a great split, but I bet the endurance training she did for the 500 probably hampered her speed a little, which makes sense. It’s asking a lot to be great in the 500, 200 and 100 all at once. She did it but can probably can go under :47 on a flat start without a lot of trouble, if she trains for it.
