December 06th, 2014 News, Video, Video Interview

Nathan Adrian is a U.S. National Champion in the 50 and 100 freestyles many times over, but on Friday he added a title in the men’s 200 free as well.

In speaking after that race on Friday, Adrian said unequivocally “no” to taking the 200 free into long course after tasting a little success over the last few weeks in short course in the event. He describes the changes in technique he has to use in the 200 free, and says that after 20 years of competitive swimming, he’s accepted that it’s just not an event that will work for him in long course.

Still, he seemed happy with his result in yards, saying that he swam his own race much moreso than he did in Minneapolis two weeks ago.
