UConn’s Urbanus Wins Double in Dive Meet Against UMass

STORRS, Conn. — The University of Connecticut men’s and women’s diving teams wrapped up its dual meet against UMass on Saturday with four first-place finishes.

Senior Taryn Urbanus (Quincy, Mass.) led the way for the women, earning first-place finishes in two events. She won the one-meter event with a score of 269.70 while junior Amanda Craig (Woodbridge, Conn.) checked in second with 254.00. Urbanus was also first in the three-meter event after tallying 261.68 points.

For the men, sophomore Dan Kinney (Middletown, Conn.) finished first in the one-meter with 295.95 points, followed by senior John Brice (Bala Cynwood, Pa.) in second (281.39). The Huskies swept the competition on the three-meter platform. Kinney once again paced the team with a score of 258.16 as Brice (253.05) and sophomore Jeff Aselin (Riverside, Conn.) rounded out the top-three.

Both the men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams are back in action on Nov. 13 &14 against Princeton and Penn State.
