Tips For Dealing With Pre-Race Nerves at Your First Big Meet – From Australian Superstars

Above, some of the biggest stars of swimming in Australia share their biggest tips for dealing with pre-race nerves, especially those that come at major meets like this week’s Australian Age Championships, which for many of the country’s next generation is their first exposure to this kind of atmosphere.

Those we hear from are Emily Seebohm, Thomas Fraser-Holmes, Grant Irvine, Madi Wilson, Maddie Groves, Matthew Abood, Jess Ashwood, Keryn McMaster, and Ahmed Kelly.

The really interesting tips, though, comes from the trio of  Luke Percy, Alexander Graham, and Blake Jones, who may not have the international resumes of the group above, but they are more recently stars of the Age Group Championships, and so are still tightly woven with what the feelings of these junior meets are like.
